Frankie's wearing Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser in Shade 1 - £21.00 30ml
Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Brown, Curly Eyes: Blue
Frankie tested a new tinted moisturiser that recently hit the beauty counters – Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser. Here's what she had to say...
Despite being a spin off of the highly successful Moisture Surge range, the product itself isn’t overloading in the hydration stakes; it’s enough to warrant a pleasant glow and a plumpness in the cheeks but it didn’t cause me to become exceedingly shiny or breakout (my breakout at the time of testing is something I’m attributing to the thick and unpleasant facial sunscreen I’d tried a couple of days previously.
The moisturiser has a lovely sheer colour. Its texture was too fluid to be blended easily by a foundation brush so I used my fingers to create a natural finish. I popped a bit of Clinique Blended Face Powder on top to help set it but had to be careful not to use too much (I think the moisture makes it more prone to caking). It has good staying power throughout the day too – but if you’ve got ‘Type 2’ combination skin like me keep a few blotting papers handy!
My one bugbear with this product is that I think the Summer launch has been misleading - the product is promoted in part by its inclusion of SPF15, which is obviously a good thing, but it contains no UVA protection and this is something that cosmetics companies need to take on board. If Olay can do it then higher end brands like Clinique should too.
